I'm a recent graduate with master's in civil engineering from a university in Georgia. I made a big mistake choosing Civil for Masters instead of IT (Difficult to get a job). My family is uneducated and I didn't get proper guidance for my career.

I'm looking for a job in IT. I don't have programming experience but did one programming course in undergrad (C language) and know the basics. Please suggest which platform i should choose that has good future and doesn't take too much time to learn? I can spend couple of months to learn and if it takes more time than that i might run out of money.

Thank you! for your guidance.

I know AutoCAD. But most companies don't have foreigners. Some companies do. My friends was getting paid 45k in Florida. He left the job and moved into IT. He said Civil has no future compared to IT.
