An anthropologist explains the concept of 'language denialism'

February 21 is International Mother Language Day, a day dedicated to promoting awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity. To mark the occasion, anthropologist Gerald Roche describes language denialism, which refers to the practice of denying that some languages are languages, and the "refusal to acknowledge parity between speech forms."
