Dude. Most of the DBians give useless advice. Don't follow their advice. Most of these guys put fake experience and do anything possible to get a good paying job and discourage others from doing it. They do it to feel better about themselves that they are earning better than others. 

Get into IT immediately. No other fields are as good as IT. I made the same mistake as you. My friends who move into IT are earning way better and are happier. People working at Macy's get a salary of 45k.

During marriage, one of the main things girls family looks at is your salary. If you earn 45k and other IT candidates are earning 100k, goodluck getting married in India. Nobody cares about Phd degress if you can't make decent money.
