Revenue continues to generate by attracting tourists to the Statue of Unity

n Gujarat’s Narmada district near Kevadiya town, the Statue of Unity is located which is erected at 3.2 kilometres downstream from the Sardar Sarovar Dam. Since its inauguration on October 31, 2018, the towering Statue of Unity which is also the world’s highest at 182-meters, continues to generate revenue from the extraordinary arrival of tourists in the last three months. According to the sources the revenue generated from visitors to Statue of Unity from November 2018 to January 2019 is Rs 19.47 crore. The number of tourists who visited the Statue of Unity from November 2018 to January 2019 was 7, 81,349 as against the yearly average of 8, 22,009 tourists visiting Sardar Sarovar Dam in the last five years.

There is a tremendous increase in the number of tourists coming to the Statue of Unity in just three months which is close to the average number of tourists visiting Sardar Sarovar Dam in one year.

 

These are the seven unique features of the world’s tallest statue because of which tourists are continuously pouring in and they are:

  • The 182 meters tall, world’s highest, Statue of Unity
  • The road connecting M&VC and Shrestha Bharat Bhavan
  • Main bridge connecting Memorial & Visiting Centre and Sadhu Bet Island
