BJP celebrate the announcement of new railway zone in Visakhapatnam

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal announced a new railway zone for Andhra Pradesh in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

 

This decision was taken after a delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmakers from the state met the minister demanding it.

 

BJP workers celebrated this as an occasion in Visakhapatnam as the new railway zone-Southern Coast Railway will be headquartered there.

 

Indian Railways' operations are currently divided into 17 zones, which are further sub-divided into divisions and each one have a divisional headquarter. Currently, there is a total of 73 divisions.
