Why do software people live in a bubble?

imagine young people overwhelmingly showing desha bhakti.. lol db. its like everybody skipped their 20s, and went directly to their 50s.

oh you are in palo alto.. aah okay.

computer science is perhaps one of the few areas of research where research work is happening in production environment. Most these high earning s/w guys are at once both scientists and engineers. especially with AI now.

so double the self importance

have to deal with meetings, two week deadlines, performance reviews, production issues...

Exactly, do you think people in other professions would only work 9-5? My previous boss used to fire people if we don't work 80 hour weeks.
