Heavy rains lead to emergency declaration in several California counties

Governor Gavin Newsom declared an emergency in five northern California counties after record rain and heavy flooding left a city a virtual island, causing local officials to declare their own emergency on Wednesday. More than 21 inches of rainfall were recorded in some areas.

The weather never gets bad in the Bay area. The only instance I saw this is when there was smoke from wildfires last year, and they gave a holiday.
