MS Dhoni Dodges Fan, Makes Him Run For Embrace During 2nd ODI vs Australia

Nagpur: Mahendra Singh Dhoni is among the fastest runners between the wickets in international cricket. On Tuesday, the pace came in handy as he tried to dodge a fan, who breached security in pursuit of a hug from the charismatic former captain.
 

Dhoni did embrace the man but only after making him run for it.

 

The 37-year-old was taking position behind the stumps when India began their defence of 250 against Australia in the second ODI here.

At that moment, a fan broke through the security to run on to the field wanting a hug from the World Cup-winning former skipper.

A grinning Dhoni quite literally played hard to get while the rest of the Indian team enjoyed the little moment before the second innings of the match got underway.

The man, clad in a white T-shirt, ran after his idol, who relented after a few seconds and embraced him.

The fan also touched Dhoni's feet before he was escorted out by a Vidarbha Cricket Association volunteer and a few security personnel.

Instead of standing and letting the fan meet and hug him, Mahi decided to have a bit of fun with him. As the fan tried to catch him, Dhoni went around hiding behind players and then ran away from the fan so that he couldn't catch him. What ensued was a running contest between the two, which ended when both reached the pitch, and Dhoni allowing the fan to seek his blessings.

that's not true bro - he gave 100% during his prime time. Until dhoni comes, we don't have any wicket keeper with strong batting - so it's a biggest adv for him to be in the team. Supporters - when he gave up captaincy, obviously the players goes to the current captain but Dhoni still had command in the team and have his supporters like #Jaddu. kohli gaani dhaggara inka Dhoni suggestions run avuthunnayante ardham chesuko - it's not that easy with Kohli's behaviour. 

I agree he should have resigned 2yrs ago itself - but now he needs to be until WC.
