mexico only same visa category ... canada change of visa status allowed as far as i know

you are not authorized to work.. but u can stay until i94 expires..

best thing you can do now is...  try refiling your H1 petition again with same employer with updated documentation (once you know denial reason)   and also try transferring to a new employer  before i94 expires
