SCOPE OF WORK

Monitors and maintains the Authority’s network, servers and network connected equipment throughout the datacenter and train control facilities.

Performs and coordinates corrective actions to restore and repair internal and external communications to network/server/system.

Performs fault isolation and diagnostic/assessment functions to include determination and execution of corrective actions(s) on real-time basis.

Serves as technical specialist responsible for frontline troubleshooting and incident management during service interruptions.

Responsible for opening, closing and documenting/updating trouble tickets correctly. Generates production support availability, outages and status reports.

Works with operational support teams (systems and network engineering, database administrators), application support and application development teams to identify and document monitoring and measurement requirements.

Collect, monitors and analyzes performance metrics and generates reports to effectively manage and improve operations.

Provides administration and reporting services in the areas of incident, problem and availability management. Provides Help Desk assistance during evening hours of operations.

Provides operational coverage and support on a 24/7/365 (day/week/year) rotational basis.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 Associate’s degree in computer operating systems, repair, local and wide area networking data/communications, or related field.

 Four years of experience performing baseline troubleshooting activities in a network operations center.

 Experience with alarming and alerting tools is desired, ex: SolarWinds.

 Basic WAN and LAN troubleshooting/problem determination skills are required.

 Must be able to multi-task and use critical thinking skills to interact with technical engineers and managers in a real-time and fast paced environment.

 A+ certification, or MCSE, or CCNA certification required.

 In lieu of degree requirement, directly related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
