Travel Insurance needed aa ante my answer is may/may not.

It is really needed if you are parents are really sick and should stay in US for 6 months or more. Unless its an emergency for example heavy fever and if you need to contact physician, then it will be expensive if you don't have insurance. At the same time our travel insurances mostly don't cover, even if they cover, then there will be lot of paper work, even if you provide paper work, based on our premiums(we usally choose high premiums right) we end up paying from our pockets only.

The real advantage of having Travel insurance is when they go for Emergency. In USA irrespective of insurance Hospitals should treat the patient first. But by the time of joining they ask whether the patient have insurance or not. If you say NO, then they will ask you to bring No Income certificate from past 1 month and notarized it. On the other hand if you have insurance, they simply take it, enter it into the system and start treating the patient. How much is covered and all will be decided after the checkout. My cousin's mom hospitalized and kept 2 weeks in ICU, had 2 major surgeries and the total bill was around 300k.

So no suggestion entante, edo oka tupel insurance with high deductibles india lo, cheap rate di teesukunte emergency times lo baaga use avtadi. Inka casual visits antara, though we have insurance we need to pay from pocket.

All travel medical insurances in usa are scam. All though they say they cover upto this amount they will reject almost all the time as they can get away with it. Even patriot america. Most of these insurance companies are based out of indianapolis. Read the reviews not even one review says they were covered by insurance. But as someone already suggested just take it for the sake of it so hospitals will treat you and you can get innetwork prices. Unless you go to court they will never pay more than 1k.
