Two days ago, Telugu actress and popular host, Rashmi Gautam, was involved in an accident where her car rammed into a pedestrian crossing the road on Agnampudi Highway. After an investigation, the driver of the car has been taken into custody.

The pedestrian has been identified as Sayyed Abdul, who is a truck driver by profession. He has been out of danger but ended up with severe injuries.

After a day of silence, the actress has now opened up on the accident - 'I was about to reach home in just 15-20 minutes when this happened. Due to no street lights on the highway, the unfortunate incident took place. Also, the man was running across the road without looking at the road.'

She even clarified that the man was immediately taken to the hospital by her and her driver. In spite of many bystanders around them, no one has helped and in return, accused her of hitting the man, she said. She also asked why should she be silent when there is no fault from her side. "In spite of taking the entire responsibility, we are being blamed unnecessarily", she claimed. Rashmi also slammed those who have shooted videos excitedly on the accident area instead of helping her.
