Delhi HC to AP Govt: Respond on 'phone tapping' of YCP leaders

As elections near in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress has been ensuring that it causes immense roadblocks to the ruling Telugu Desam Party during its campaigning phase. In a fresh controversy, the Delhi High Court has sought response from the Central government and the Government of Andhra Pradesh on the issue of alleged phone tapping of YSRCP leaders.

YSRCP's former MP Y.V. Subba Reddy had filed a petition alleging that the state has been illegally keeping a watch over their leaders' phone calls and tapping them. He, along with five others, including party Chief Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy had filed the petition, seeking the court to intervene and probe into the matter. Additionally, the YSRCP leaders also sought legal action against those responsible.

Meanwhile, Subba Reddy informed the Delhi High Court that he had submitted a representation to the Home Minister in this regard but necessary action has not been taken. Responding to this, the Delhi High Court has sought a reply from Andhra Pradesh government and the Centre by April 15th.
