Take a look at DJI Osmo Pocket with mechanical gimbal and better/smooth stabilization and warmer picture. This is ideal for usual/family filming. The best thing about this is, it has Active Tracking - if you don't have a cameraman, it can follow you on its gimbal and focus on a subject (same DJI drone camera tech). No other camera has this feature.

GoPro is outdoorsy and high-speed action camera. Its digital stabilization is a trickery - they crop the video by -10% to adjust the shaking to make it look like it is stabilizing.

No camera is perfect and every camera has issues/flaws/shortcomings. Get what suits your needs.

Been using Hero 7 Black for the past 3 months. Battery life is good if you use the genuine go pro batteries. I get around 2 hours on 1080p and close to 90 mins on 2.7k

Go Pro is good if you're into action sports and active lifestyle

DJI Osmo pocket has more limitations due to small sensor size and doesn't match up to what a go pro can do IMHO

HyperSmooth stabilization on the new go pro is amazing. Check out this video I shot while skiing a few weeks ago.
