Autism linked to exposure to pesticides and chemicals during pregnancy

Findings suggest that an offspring’s risk of autism spectrum disorder increases following prenatal exposure to ambient pesticides within 2000 m of their mother’s residence during pregnancy, compared with offspring of women from the same agricultural region without such exposure. Infant exposure could further increase risks for autism spectrum disorder with comorbid intellectual disability.

Wonder if house cleaning chemicals also cause this issue. Garden and lawn maintenance require chemicals as well. This country is rife with chemicals and it is not a shock that there are so many cases of autism here.

Read the article in the link. Chemicals can have a significant effect on the functioning of our bodies. You cannot just call this spurious correlation.

This falls outside my realm of expertise. This is a population based study and @Anta Assamey  is an expert in this.
