Telugu States have Richest Legislators In the Country

If one has to compare the assets declaration of legislators in the Telugu States, those from Andhra Pradesh are way richer than their Telangana counterparts. Going by the value of declared assets, Congress MP who defected from the TRS is the richest in both the states family assets and wealth amounting to Rs. 895 crore. AP Minister from TDP P. Narayana's declared wealth stands at 667 crore. Additionally, the declared wealth of Vijayawada YSRCP MP Potluri Varaprasad stands at Rs. 450 crore and that of TDP MP Jayadev Galla's assets stand at Rs. 389 crore.

Nearly 7 candidates from the Telangana and 5 from Andhra Pradesh have assets worth more than Rs. 100 crore. Interestingly, both, the families of TDP Chief and YSRCP Chief also top the list of combined assets. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has declared family assets worth Rs. 574 crore. Of this, his son Nara Lokesh, has declared Rs. 320 crore as his net worth. Meanwhile, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's assets combined with the wealth of his wife and daughters are valued at over Rs. 510 crore.

Interestingly, Nama Nageswara Rao, chairman of Madhucon, who defected from TDP to TRS in Telangana has declared assets worth Rs. 334 crore while another TRS candidate P. Ranjith Reddy has declared Rs. 163 crore as his combined assets while B. Janardhan Reddy from TRS had declared his assets amounting to Rs. 119 crore. 

If these candidates win the assembly and Parliament seats they are contesting from, then Telugu states will definitely create the record of being home to some of the richest legislators in India.
