It will be tough for the Congress leader to return to the Upper House from either Telangana or Andhra, where the party’s presence has dwindled. But neither House will forget her.

She once shocked everyone by saying that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu looks like a pickpocket standing at a bus stand and described film star-turned-politician Jaya Prada as a “bimbo”. She had dared policemen to arrest her and waged a war against the media.

Telugu Desam Party founder and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N T Rama Rao, widely known as NTR, once described her as the “only man in TDP”. “Rani Rudramma Devi”, “Revolver Rani” and “Rajni of Rajya Sabha” are the titles that the people of Andhra Pradesh have bestowed on her. It was due to her “devil-may-care” attitude that she was expelled twice from the TDP.

Maybe the news in AP are all like that. I wouldn't say it specifically about CBN, I think it's everybody who make the news a joke and fool's paradise.

Its a norm in most of the fields to mention the torchbearers. For the fake news in AP there is no better torchbearer than CBN

Like I said, I wouldn't say it's CBN alone. I think there are two extremes here. And there is no common ground/unbiased news source anymore. You can't ignore the other extreme.

When did she say this ? 1999

Your fight with Chandrababu Naidu got quite personal at one stage last year, when you were quoted as saying that he looked like a pickpocket.

No, that's not true at all. The particular show that aired this had cut and pasted a translation of what I had said in quite another context. They had actually asked me to mimic a Telugu videotape in which a man was saying this. I have since got an unqualified apology from the television company that did this.

It was a hard lesson for me to learn. The first lesson was that people actually believed that I was capable of saying something like this, and I would have to reign in my image. And the second, that I could so easily have become a victim of a set-up like that. But the damage was done. I did, however, fax a copy of the apology to the chief minister, and he realised that it was a set-up too.

The news i posted is from Feb 20 , 2018 . https://www.rediff.com/news/report/rajni-of-rajya-sabha-unlikely-to-make-a-return/20180220.htm . Why would rediff post news 20 years later if they had got clarification earlier from her?

Rediff article you've quoted has no author. (The article was taken from Business standard)

BTW the actual article youve quoted from rediff is taken from here https://www.business-standard.com/article/politics/renuka-chowdhury-rajini-of-rajya-sabha-unlikely-to-make-a-return-118021100647_1.html

Article which I've quoted is an interview excerpt .This interview was done by Suhasini haider(daughterr of Subramaniam swamy) on behalf of rediff way back in 1999
