Exit polls show Israeli PM Netanyahu with narrow lead

The polls are closed in the Israeli election. Exit polls suggest that incumbent Benjamin Netanyahu has a slight edge over retired general Benny Gantz. Both candidates have declared victory after initial contradictory exit polls showed the race was too close to call.
