Telangana: 11 women NREGA workers buried alive

11 women NREGA (National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) have lost their lives in a mudslide while digging a trench in Edmartippa hillock on the outskirts of Tileru village in Narayanpet. The officials suspect that few more are trapped under the mud and rescue operations are being made at war foot.

However, by the time, the officials rescue the trapped, there are high chances of the labourers being alive. Most of the victims are said to be from the same village.

Telangana CM KCR has expressed shock over this incident and directed officials to take appropriate measures to rescue the trapped ones. As per KCR’s directions, minister V Srinivas Goud reached the accident spot and is said to be monitoring the rescue operations. He is also updating all the information to the CM’s office.
