Hyderabad among top 3 cities in attracting talent, says LinkedIn report

Hyderabad: India is home to the fastest growing workforces in the world and the city of Hyderabad has preceded Mumbai to become the top 3 city in attracting talent. A report by LinkedIn titled India Workforce Report H2 2018 reveals that New Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad are the top three cities where talent is moving followed by Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Vadodara and Jaipur.

As per the report, the top jobs are in the areas of software and IT services, manufacturing and finance followed by corporate services and education. Healthcare emerged amongst the top five industries in the five cities including Mumbai and Hyderabad.

 

“We have seen that software engineering and business management are the most sought-after jobs in 2018 in India across industries, as well as for talent moving outside India. Another interesting finding is Hyderabad making it amongst the top three cities attracting talent, preceding Mumbai at number four. The broader goal is to use these insights to inform policy-making in the skills, education, and employment sectors,” said Mahesh Narayanan, country manager – India, LinkedIn.

Across India’s principal industries and fastest-growing industries, software engineer is a leading position being hired for and the trend was observed in both H1 and H2 of 2018. Business Management roles such as business analyst and business development manager also saw a high-share in jobs hired for in H2 2018. The report reveals a rising share of data-related jobs — the role of a data analyst gaining prominence in legal and healthcare industries.

Internationally, the US continues to be the number one destination outside India for work followed by the UAE, Canada, the UK and Australia.
