Think about these common sense questions many Indians have before spending too much time listening to all gurus--in the hope that you don't just repeat what is said by some guru, but that you can think for yourself.

Everyone of us has a name, family history, educational history, status, financial assets, gc/citizen/hokati, etc. Then people talk about past births, future births, and the business of karma. And we are also told that we don't have authority on the results of what we do (for instance, karmanye vadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana), yet that we 'experience' that this home is 'mine', that 'my' kid is going to Stanford, etc. 

Given this, what gets reborn, when there is no "I".

What exactly is your problem about Vedas? I don't know who you are (like your religion, opinion on God,...).
