An additional 30,000 seasonal guestworker visas will become available to employers starting May 8. 

The Homeland Security and Labor departments released regulations May 6 governing the process for applying for the H-2B visas, which will supplement the 66,000 visas that are regularly available during the fiscal year. The visas only will be available to “returning workers"—those who previously have come to the U.S. on an H-2B visa in at least one of the past three fiscal years.
