You can also describe these parents in another way: these parents are settled in cities, and do not have many relatives, since they have cut off "yerra bussu relatives" because of city-status and of their kids' achievements--and they don't have enough extended connections. So, these people end up on matrimony most of the time.  There is no one to tame these parents and their expectations.

Remember the days of your great grand parents. In those days, elders used to connect prospective brides with grooms without expecting any 'consulting' fee.
