Not all awds are same. Subaru does torque vectoring and some times brake based rear axle coupling. Only other suv in that price range that does it rav4 adventure . Legendary safety , reliability , resale value and stodgy looks are Subaru’s fortes. Type of awd does not matter so long as you switch to winter tires every winter. Mana desis usually don’t do it. So go with better awd system which is Subaru any day .

check out new outback that is due this fall. It is built on global platform and has new engines. 2018 models are being offered at 0% apr in some dealers. But road noise in Outback is definitely a problem . I bought Subaru Ascent last year . Can not be any more happier . If you go with Subaru check out vip discount to get vehicle more or less at invoice price .

Road noise is more when compared to CR-V and RAV4

mazda CX5- pros -  looks and interior      cons - less leg and boot space, so suitable only for medium sized people  

CRV - pros - good from all aspects          cons - all desi uncles  will have the same car as yours and also CVT oil issues

outback - pros - safely features,  great AWD system , spacious interior       cons -  4 cylinder  engine is sluggish and people will call it Subba rao car 

you can one pick based on your needs
