Creole languages and pidgin languages emerge from contact of one language community with another. In Mauritius, a French creole is spoken: yes, french words, desi words are mixed up, etc.

Pidgin languages emerge in order to simplify the communication between two language groups. Nigerian pidgin English is one such example.
