న్యూఢిల్లీ, హైదరాబాద్‌, జూలై 28(ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి): తొలి దశ తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమ సమయంలో జైపాల్‌ రెడ్డి పచ్చి సమైక్యవాది! మలి దశ ఉద్యమం తొలి రోజుల్లోనూ అంతే! ‘నేను సమైక్యవాదిని’ అని బహిరంగంగా ప్రకటించారు కూడా! తెలంగాణ విడిపోకుండా ఏపీ ప్రశాంతంగా ఉండదని నిర్ణయించుకున్న తర్వాత ప్రత్యేక రాష్ట్రానికి మద్దతు ఇచ్చారు! తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమం తీవ్రతరం కావడంతో 2009 డిసెంబరు 9న తెలంగాణకు అనుకూలంగా అప్పటి హోం మంత్రి చిదంబరం ప్రకటన చేయాల్సి వచ్చింది. దీంతో, దానిని ఆంధ్ర ప్రాంత నేతలు తీవ్రంగా వ్యతిరేకించడం.. రాజీనామాలు చేయడం, నిరసన జ్వాలలు రేకెత్తించడంతో రాష్ట్రం రెండుగా విడిపోయింది. అదే సమయంలో, జైపాల్‌ ఎక్కడకు వెళ్లినా తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమకారులు ఆయనను నిలదీయడం, జై తెలంగాణ నినాదాలు చేయాలని డిమాండ్‌ చేసేవారు. చివరకు ఢిల్లీలో కూడా ఒక ఆర్ట్‌ గ్యాలరీ ప్రారంభాని కి ఆయన వెళ్లడంతో తెలంగాణవాదులు ఆయనను చుట్టుముట్టి నినాదాలు చేయించారు.

 

 

ఈ సంక్షోభ పరిస్థితుల్లో తాను తప్పనిసరై తెలంగాణ ప క్షం వహించాలని జైపాల్‌ నిర్ణయించారు. ‘‘చిదంబరం ప్రకటన చేసే వర కూ నేను సమైక్యవాదిని. రాష్ట్రం సమైక్యంగా ఉంటే బాగుపడుతుందని భావించేవాడిని. చిదంబరం ప్రకటనతో రాష్ట్రం రెండుగా విడిపోయి నేను తెలంగాణ పక్షం వహించాల్సి వచ్చింది’’ అని జైపాల్‌ రెడ్డి స్వయంగా చెప్పుకొన్నారు. అప్పటి నుంచీ ఆయన ప్రత్యేక తెలంగాణ కోసం పోరాడుతూ వచ్చారు. పలుసార్లు కేసీఆర్‌తో చర్చలు జరిపారు. ఆ తర్వాత తెలంగాణ ఏర్పాటులో అత్యంత కీలక పాత్ర పోషించారు కూడా! తెలంగాణ ఏర్పాటు చేయనున్నట్లు కేంద్రం ప్రకటించి.. వెనక్కి తగ్గిన తర్వాత రాజకీయ పరిణామాలు రోజుకో రకంగా మారిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే.

 

రోశయ్యను తప్పించి కిరణ్‌కుమార్‌ రెడ్డిని ముఖ్యమంత్రి పీఠంపై కూర్చోబెట్టారు. ఏపీ నేతలు విభజనకు వ్యతిరేకంగా, తెలంగాణ ఎంపీలు అనుకూలంగా అధిష్ఠానం ముందు వాదనలు వినిపించడం నిత్యకృత్యమైంది. అప్పట్లో ఢిల్లీలోని జైపాల్‌రెడ్డి నివాసం తెలంగాణ నేతలకు వేదికగా ఉం డేది. ఒక దశలో కిరణ్‌కుమార్‌ రెడ్డిని సీఎం పదవి నుంచి తప్పించి.. ఉమ్మడి ఏపీకి జైపాల్‌ రెడ్డిని ముఖ్యమంత్రిని చేయాలన్న ఆలోచనను కాంగ్రెస్‌ అధిష్ఠానం చేసింది. అయితే, జైపాల్‌ రెడ్డి ఆ ప్రతిపాదనను నిర్ద్వంద్వంగా తోసిపుచ్చారు.

Want some clarification from people who claim he was one of the main reasons behind TG formation.  It seems he took that stand only after the chidambaram statement

While I agree that he played important part after the Chidambaram statement, But Before that it seems he hardly had any interest in separate TG formation.

Until 80’s, He was staunch supporter of Telangana. Mari Chenna Reddy time lo Jaipal Reddy was not so insignificant but the views were pro-Telangana. 

After the emergency mess and leaving Congress to join Janata Dal, there he has to stick to nationalist agenda and janata ideology where there was no scope of such divided states theory...

Congress ghar wapsi tarvata, TG agitation did not matter much or was not such a serious one until KCR formed TRS and entered into pacts with Congress for 2004...

Practicality, Possibility anetivi kuda vuntayi...These are political decisions which are taken based on the present political strength and scenarios...

Jaipal reddy was a supporter of Telangana, big just being a supporter, that doesn’t solve the problem. It needed political solution and mandate and majority also need to be taken into account..
