Harvesting rain is good. However, don't think that harvesting rain helps recharge aquifers that are emptied out due to borewells: see this video to understand aquifers

Water problem is stunting the growth of chennai big time tbf. It was the fourth largest city by gdp few years ago, but it is no more. It is only a matter of time before water runs out for most cities in India though.

Recharging borewells is the way to go man...but this should be done in a major scale
