The flying car was unveiled in front of journalists in Japan

Two brief demonstrations took place inside a giant cage and those watching were told to wear helmets as a precaution. The Japanese government aims to have people using flying cars by the 2030s and has backed the construction of a huge test course in an area devastated by the 2011 tsunami and nuclear disasters in Fukushima. There are also hopes to use flying cars to connect islands in the Mie resort area, which is frequented by Hollywood celebrities. Japan wants to become a world leader in the sector but could find itself competing with Dubai, which is also aggressively pursuing the technology.

Flying cars (car-o-planes) would be the coolest invention - after cars - to beat the crazy traffic.

And USA would be the last one to get them :(

(because no one wants any legal liabilities here in the US from flying cars crashing on people's heads)

Beat the crazy traffic.

Also - ride-sharing, deliveries and disaster relief operations with unmanned/driverless capabilities and the ability to take off and land vertically.

(Helicopters are expensive to maintain, noisy to fly and require trained pilots)

The tech is still in its infancy/genesis stage. It'll evolve - it has to... (Uber is after it). If planes can fly cross-continent, flying cars should be able to fly cross-country.

(drones were flying for a few minutes initially but now improving)
