Total compensation company is paying you will some XX $'s ani cheptharu...that includes base, bonus% (ee number varies yearly based on company performance etc etc...they try to sell you with high % but not necessarily it will be same every yr), stock options (again you cant control company's stock), health insurance and other insurances etc, your PTO's worth in $'s, 401K and lastly your H1/GC related expenses....anni kalipithe 250K - 300K worth of money company ki burden ninnu hire chesukunte ani cheptharu.....but your base pay is what you actually see in you bank account bi-weekly bases and that is how you plan your expenses and future. Rest of them are important too and bonus, stock, insurances, H1 expenses kuda directly/in-directly neeku benefit avthundi but those are hidden things which matters long term and probably you will enjoy those but you wont plan your daily/future things solely based on those things. So try to focus more on base pay and rest will be automatically taken care. 180K-200K base is not bad to ask in Seattle

Just for the rent differential alone, you should ask $50K per annum before taxes.
