He can be naive, saying he doesn’t know how gun/bullets work, all he knew at that time was to protect himself by making sure the robber is dead ‘completely’.

naive argument cannot be bought.. he should have been holding a permit for carry. all these get covered in that training session. It depends on what he has to say but if I were the jury, I would punish him. His responsibility is to protect himself, not to kill the other person. Law says the same.

Nothing fishy. This is US. And he must be having a permit to carry. Corporate companies usually have rules against carrying firearms but I think this might be a franchise..
