Which University? Ma university lo international student center responds to RFEs also. I don't think it's common to get those on J1 though.

Ok thanks for the clarification. Another question. If I change job now can I apply h4 to j1 cos and h4 extensions along wth my h1 transfer in parallel.

Also if you're on J1, J2 can work. But if you're on F1, F2 cannot work.

I don't know if you can do that, why would you need two different Visas?

I don't  know much about Masters degree, don't have one.

But, you can work on F1 Visa as well. You don't get paid much though, maybe 45k per year. Usually F1 visa is for PhD students who are paid from US funding sources and J1 is for students who are paid by home countries. J1 is also for residents who finish MD or for fellows who finish residency program or PhD. In those cases, they can be paid by US funding sources.

J2 as in husband or wife of J1. Same thing is for F2. If you are a PhD student on J1 Visa, your wife can work but if you're a PhD student on F1 Visa, your wife cannot work.
