NEW DELHI: The first study of the DNA samples of the skeletal remains excavated from Rakhigarhi, an Indus Valley Civilisation (IVC) site in Haryana, has found no traces of Iranian farmer or steppe pastoralist ancestry, which according to the lead archaeologist in the team raises doubt over the long-held theory of Aryan invasion or migration into South Asia.

“The paper indicates that there was no Aryan invasion and no Aryan migration and that all the developments right from the hunting-

gathering stage to modern times in South Asia were done by indigenous people,” Prof Vasant Shinde, lead author of the paper, told ET.

The findings of the study, which took over three years to complete, authored by a team of Indian archaeologists and DNA experts from Harvard Medical School was published on Thursday in the scientific journal ‘Cell’ under the title: ‘An Ancient Harappan Genome Lacks Ancestry from Pastoralists and Iranian Farmers’.

Well, there goes the Communists Dravidian movement to divide Indians in the gutter,

Slap anyone who keep peddling the Aryan - Dravidian fake stories.

South అంటే తమిళనాడు mostly . వాళ్ళని ఎవరు touch చేయలేదు . కేరళ farward castes are mixed-up ones .. అందుకే look wise చాలా difference ఉంది ..

When science proves the theory wrong, arguing against it is pedantic.

It's like you get your DNA tested and found your dad is indeed your actual dad but the milkman keeps insisting YOU are his son...

Aryan invasion theory ni south galla meedha veyyatam maha papam. This invasion theory was always loved by northes and even some southi brahmins. vivekananda beleived in it ..bal gangadhar tilak beleived in it. Many of them took pride that their ancestry atleast partly is same as whites who were ruling the globe then. Valla aagadalu bharincha leka the great ramasami periyar started the dravidian pride movement.

That whole aryan theory was always junk and british invention to support their rule in india.
