my relatives came around 1984-85,  the people who got chance in 1980's is purely of talent opportunity... some are doctors, some are researchers .. my relatives are doctors they came for higher education, and other relative is  Civil  engineer...  specialized in some special constructions... like secret bunkers.. . 5 years ago worked for a company in texas  CTO was desi from Delhi, he is Delhi IIT 1982 batch,

Currently I work for financial...   a  60+ year old man runs whole department.. he is IIT from delhi and IIM Ahmadabad ..   

Mainly highly talented , hardworking people came around those.. days..

1) Air tickets : they use to bought from broker... air ticketbooking was using phone calls....and payment via checks...it use to take around 7 days to confirm tickets.

2) There use to be no GPS, people use to buy maps (paper version)

3) Carry change( coins ) to make calls.

4) Sending message to India is expensive: Mainly telegrams , intentional mails...
