India is great. It has ancient culture which is great ane mentality vunna society lo brathukuthunnam.  We dont want to talk about anything bad related to India.

Irony is that we live abroad while making those arguments about how great India is.

US lone depression ekkuvaga kanpinchaduki karanam ikkada vunna reporting system and openness towards coounselling (Pyscologist).

First of all, india lo physcologist daggaraku velthe pichodu antaaru... So, depression vunna kaani janalu aa problem ni address cheyadaniki psycologist la daggaraku vellaru.

This basically narrows down to Individualism vs collectivism. Individualistic culture (Like US) lo people are open to acknowledge and talk about problems. They are open to ask help. Its exactly opposite in collective cultures like India.

US lo pakkanodiki time evadiki undadhu. Neeku emaithe naakenti mentality almost for every neighbors. India lo relatives and friends chalu, psychologist dhaka vellakkarla

Arranged marriage is not necessarily bad. But it is not working because people are divided in to tiny castes. Only on paper you are andhra of 9 crore population but when it comes most important things such as marriage pool you are looking at 18 laks or 36 laks which is very small.

Imagine if there were no castes and all 9 crore telugu people are one and understand one language. You can go to a bar, pub or any social event and everyone is part of your 9 crore telugu community. There are healthy and attractive girls in all castes and now suddenly everyone is available to everyone if you are rich or good looking yourself. If you have great idea any rich guy among 9 crores may join hands with you and fund you for profit. Then telugu people dont even need america everything that is needed is right there in AP and TG.

True to some extent. You see this trend only in cities and among people living in apartments. The people who own their houses mostly have interactions with their neighbors. The intensity of their interaction is even more in rural areas. This trend is similar in India too (Urban vs Rural mentality).  As we are people from different country with customs that are alien to normal american, It is hard for them to come and interact with us. To that matter, being Indian and following Indian culture which values relations, most of us living in US wouldn't talk with our neighbors too. Why cant we take that first step?

Yes, Its agreeable that the intensity/frequency for the need to go to psychologist might be low due to family support system in India. But most of the time, understand that, being engineers working for large corporations, we are only exposed urban population in US.  I , first highhandedly know my colleagues (friends too) who has family relationships like us.

Family and friends are not subject matter experts to deal with ones psychological issues. The narratives like "India lo relatives and friends chalu, psychologist dhaka vellakkarla" which discourages people to acknowledge and get help for the issues, doesn't help India.

Yep, for the time being we are choosing family over paisal. Doesn't it look hypocritical?

Obviously, not all cultures are all good or all bad. But, the argument that is built on comparing bads of one culture to goods of another culture, to prove a point that Indian culture is great, is flawed.

You are not hypocrite if you are running after money and exploring other countries when you are young  and leave once you are self sufficient.

You are hypocrite if you completely settle in one country and comment on another.

Hypocrisy - the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform.

You are absolute hypocrite if you are "running" after money and exploring other countries while gloating about how inferior their cultures are when compared to your own. However, you an "extremist" if you are even oblivious of that hypocrisy. You seem to be an extremist not just a hypocrite

Not just claiming to have moral standards when they have none, but also claiming to have "superior" moral standards when they lack the basic etiquette to even try to understand their own hypocrisy

Then why are you running after money here, you should be running after money where you believe there are superior moral standards
