Don’t waste money, immediately after marriage most important thing is to have a private place and no one to disturb 

 

after few month when both of you know each other than you can plan trips every few month and have lots of fun

Maldives is a beast in itself. 

Go there only if you are willing to stay at properties with their own islands. You can start from a 2L package for 4 days but that is all crappy locations and masses. It is a unique place where you get to enjoy the real Maldives at high end properties only. 

It comes with its own cost - sea plane transfers, hotel only food which is insanely pricey etc. 

I have not been there but I did book 4 trips so far for some people. If interested I can answer specific questions if you share duration and budget.
