He won't be able to ask that way but property usually son ki vastundi, gold adapilla ki veltundi.. sensitive issues, he need to have some patience. Parents know much better, they won't be easily influenced.

Not always parents know everything 

Most parents Get easily trapped to emotional influences- son or daughter. Don’t blame them but neither support them
