Although I was home trained to read and write in telugu (now I am doing the same with my kids here in USA). After I moved back to Hyd I took Telugu as second language. I liked that status quo and no need to enforce anything new now. if I am not wrong AP and Telangana or elsewhere there are always 3 languages thought atleast until the mid school level i.e. 7th grade.
