We need to be clear Mining is NOT reactor.

Mining does not produce fissionable Uranium.

uranium mining does million times less pollution to ground water than say meat industry or tanneries.

This is really great source...I tried exploring this site and saw not much of hazards in Uranium mining all over the world...

Mining seems to be just like other minerals...digging and extracting what we want...

The uranium present in mineral form is of a different kind and may not necessarily produce radiation...

mining is safer than many other minings.

 

Processing produces radio active waste.

BUT 

processing does not happen at mining site...
