Hindi already is rajya basha, majority of the govt buildings are named in hindi all over, alll the currency notes have hindi alphabet written in bigger font than any other language, even the rupee symbol is derived from the letter "ra" in hindi... when a country so diverse has so many languages, the language spoke by the majority will be considered as "official" or "national" language... that doesnt mean other languages dont exist or are of no value... Worst case what happens is they will include hindi as an additional language in some schools... most of the schools already teach hindi. Malayalam batch more than half of the state can understand some level of Hindi/Urdu owing to their ties with Gulf and Do you really think Malayalis just because they understand another language , Is there a threat to their culture ? Hyd is now home to huge number of bengalis and odiyas...and mumbai is home to biharis and bhayyas...vallandaru Hindi matladukundam ani raledu kada...
