Megha Engg sole bidder in Polavaram work re-tender, quotes 12.6 per cent lower

Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd’s proposal is 12.6 per cent lower than the earlier contract awarded for execution of the hydel power plant and main concrete works of the mega Polavaram irrigation project in Andhra Pradesh.

In the reverse tendering initiative of the AP government, MEIL’s bid of Rs 4,358 crore is Rs 628 crore lower lower than the Rs 4,987-crore contract awarded earlier. This was cancelled by the AP govenment after Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy took office as Chief Minister of AP, after a resounding victory earlier this year.

MEIL was the only company to bid in the re-tender invited by AP, for works worth Rs 4,987 crore, .

Megha Engineering will begin work on the project as soon as the court permits it to do so.

The state government had cancelled the Polavaram contracts. A preliminary quote by L-1, the only company bidding, was considered as the base estimate cost.

The previous government had awarded a Rs 2,346-crore contract for a hydropower station along with the Polavaram project, but works could not be taken up.

Transtroy, a company owned by TDP leader Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, which won the Polavaram construction contract in 2012, could not complete the work. The Chandrababu Naidu-led government later entrusted the works through sub-contracting.

The Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government had cancelled the contracts and called for reverse tenders for the Polavaram project headworks and hydropower station, estimated at Rs 4,987 crore.

Megha was the only bidder for these works. Earlier, MEIL had constructed the Pattiseema lift irrigation scheme, and has been engaged with the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project in Telangana.

The Polavaram project has been taken up to supply water to 7.2 lakh acres of agricultural land, generate 960 MW of hydel power, transfer 80 TMC water to the Krishna River and about 23.44 TMC of drinking water to Visakhapatnam city.

Megha grabs Polavaram, AP govt saves 629 crs

The Polavaram re-tender has been acquired by Megha Engineering Works. The Jagan-led AP government invited the reverse tender for Rs 4,987 crores. Megha Krishna Reddy's company today grabbed the tender by quoting just Rs 4,358 crores, which is 12.6% lesser than the government tender value.

With the new acquisition of the tender, the AP government has saved Rs 629 crores. The tender includes the construction of the Polavaram headworks, earth and rockfill dam and the hydroelectric project. Megha had earlier constructed KCR's pet project Kaleswaram lift irrigation project.

Soon after taking charge as the chief minister, Jagan canceled the Polavaram construction contract to Navayuga Engineering, which was originally allotted by the then CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Jagan even went against the Modi government's diktat and invited the re-tender.

Polavaram reverse tender goes to Megha Krishna Reddy

As expected, the Jagan Reddy government has given the multi-crore Polavaram works to its most favoured company. PV Krishna Reddy of Megha Engineering got the reverse tender works. He quoted nearly 13 per cent less. While the government invited tender for Rs 4,987 Cr, Megha Krishna Reddy offered to take up the works at just Rs 4,358 Cr. These works include Polavaram Head Works, Earth cum Rockfill Dam and Hydel Project.

Jagan Circar blindly cancelled the previous ongoing contract works allotted to the Navayuga Engineering Company by Naidu Regime. There is also a court case pending. Even the Central Government took serious objection to Jagan decision.

Megha Krishna Reddy is the contractor for Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s multi-crore Kaleswaram lift irrigation project. There are allegations that KCR had influenced Jagan to favour Megha.

65వ ప్యాకేజీ పనుల్లో రూ. 59 కోట్లు ఆదా అయిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే

సాక్షి, అమరావతి:  ప్రతిష్టాత్మకమైన పోలవరం ప్రాజెక్టులో చేపట్టిన ‘రివర్స్‌ టెండరింగ్‌’  సూపర్‌ సక్సెస్‌ అవుతోంది. తాజాగా పోలవరం ప్రధాన డ్యామ్‌ వద్ద మిగిలిన పనులకు సంబంధించి చేపట్టిన రివర్స్‌ టెండరింగ్‌లో ప్రభుత్వ ఖజానాకు  ఏకంగా రూ. 782 కోట్లు ఆదా అయ్యాయి. రూ. 4,987.55 కోట్లు విలువచేసే.. పోలవరం ప్రాజెక్టు పనులకు టెండర్లు పిలువగా.. 12.6శాతం తక్కువ మొత్తానికే ఈ పనులు చేపట్టేందుకు ‘మేఘ’ సంస్థ ముందుకొచ్చింది. ఈ పనుల కోసం రూ. 4,358.11 కోట్లు కోట్‌ చేస్తూ.. మేఘ సంస్థ బిడ్డింగ్‌ వేసింది. ఈ మేరకు ఆర్థిక బిడ్‌ను ఏపీ ప్రభుత్వం సోమవారం తెరిచింది. దీంతో ఏపీ ఖజానాకు రూ. 628.43 కోట్లు ఆదా కాగా.. గతంలో 4.8శాతం ఎక్సెస్‌ ధరకు తన అస్మదీయులకు చంద్రబాబు సర్కారు ఈ టెండర్లు కట్టబెట్టింది. దీనివల్ల  ఖజానాపై రూ. 154 కోట్ల అదనపు భారం పడింది. ఈ భారాన్ని కూడా కలుపుకుంటే ప్రస్తుతం ఖజానాకు రూ. 782 కోట్లు ఆదా అయినట్టు అయింది. ఇంతకుముందు పోలవరం 65వ ప్యాకేజీ పనులకు సంబంధించి చేపట్టిన రివర్స్‌ టెండరింగ్‌లో రూ.58.53 కోట్లు ఖజానాకు ఆదా అయిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే.

 

పోలవరం ప్రధాన డ్యాము వద్ద మిగిలిన రూ. 1,771.44 కోట్ల పనుల కోసం, 960 మెగావాట్ల జలవిద్యుత్‌ ప్రాజెక్టు నిర్మాణానికి సంబంధించి రూ. 3,216.11 కోట్ల పనుల కోసం తాజాగా ఏపీ ప్రభుత్వం రివర్స్‌ టెండరింగ్‌ను నిర్వహించింది. ఈ మేరకు పనులను చేపట్టేందుకు మేఘ సంస్థ బిడ్డింగ్‌ దాఖలు చేసిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే. గతంలో హైడల్‌ ప్రాజెక్టు పనులను 4.8శాతం అధిక ధరకు నవయుగ సంస్థకు అప్పటి చంద్రబాబు ప్రభుత్వం అప్పగించింది. ఎక్సెస్‌ రేటుకు కట్టబెట్టడం వల్ల ప్రభుత్వ ఖజానాకు రూ. 154 కోట్ల అదనపు భారం పడింది. గత ప్రభుత్వ హయాంలో పోలవరం ప్రాజెక్టు విషయంలో జరిగిన అవినీతి, అక్రమాలపై నిపుణుల కమిటీ విచారణ జరిపింది. పోలవరం టెండర్లను గత ప్రభుత్వం కావాలనే అధిక మొత్తానికి కటబెట్టినట్టు నిపుణల కమిటీ నిర్ధారించింది. ఒకే సంస్థకు నామినేటెడ్‌ పద్ధతిలో గత చంద్రబాబు సర్కారు పోలవరం పనులను కట్టబెట్టింది. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో నిపుణుల కమిటీ నివేదిక ఆధారంగా ప్రభుత్వం పోలవరం ప్రాజెక్టు పనులకు సంబంధించి రివర్స్‌ టెండరింగ్‌ విధానాన్ని చేపట్టింది. రివర్స్‌ టెండరింగ్‌లో గణనీయమైన రీతిలో ప్రభుత్వ ఖజానాకు భారం తగ్గింది. పోలవరం 65వ ప్యాకేజీ పనుల్లో రూ. 59 కోట్లు ఆదా కాగా.. ప్రస్తుతం ప్రధాన పనుల విషయంలో ఏకంగా రూ. 782 కోట్లు ఆదా అయ్యాయి.

Ippudayithe sole tender bid done only by Megha... Court approval ivvali mostly since oka case file ayyindi ga by Navayuga..
