Anyone can also use Billboards for Advertising..

Huge billboards in New York are often used for political advertising and campaigning. WION's Executive Editor Palki Sharma Upadhyay reports on how Pakistan used one such space at Times Square to politicise and internationalise the Kashmir issue.

One of the quintessential features of New York's Times Square are the gigantic billboards. Neon, digital signs deck all the buildings and advertisements appear on almost everything from products, movies and with political advertisements also visible on several occasions.

Such bold ads shows confidence in their cause. Evaraina ads ivacchu annadhi correct kaadhu. You can’t give racist or offensive ads. Papers theeesokvu.

Calling someone ‘racist’ is allowed in ads here. NYT is a liberal paper that looks the other way when minorities want to post ads.

You did not understand. Making a racist ad( not calling someone racist) will not be allowed. If nyt believed this ad unfairly targets India in a racist manner it wouldn’t have allowed. It believes it’s a fair accusation against India though it may not endorse it.

If New York Times is endorsing their stance, they would have probably written an article too.

MUZAFFARABAD, Kashmir — In Pakistan-controlled Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the simple fact of the region’s name — with azad meaning free — is a declaration that Kashmiris here enjoy a liberty denied to their kin across the border, in the Indian-held portion of the disputed territory.

But even in Pakistan-held Kashmir, the message has been clear, residents say: No talk of independence will be allowed.

As an Indian crackdown on the other side of Kashmir has led to massive civil unrestand new calls for a Kashmir free from either India or Pakistan, local activists and officials say a parallel security operation is being pushed inside Pakistan.

Pakistan has long prided itself on being a champion for Kashmiris, who are predominantly Muslim. And the government has chastised India for suppressing calls for freedom in the portion of Kashmir that New Delhi controls.

But New York Times journalists who were granted rare access to Azad Jammu and Kashmir in recent days found a toughening Pakistani security response to a growing independence movement here.
