Ravana, in his earlier birth, was one of the gatekeepers of Vaikunta - Jaya and Vijaya. Maharishi Bhrighu curses them that they too would suffer the sorrow and pain of being distanced from Vishnu. They can obtain redemption after either by 10 births of friendship with Vishnu or 3 births of hostility. They chose that 3 births of hostility rather than 10 births of friendship. Ravana had to ensure that he is slain by Vishnu to obtain redemption from the curse of Maharishi Bhrighu.

He was thus born 3 times in 3 yugas. In the first birth, Jaya and Vijaya were born as Hiranyaksha and Hiranykashyapu, next as Ravana and Kumbhakarna and later as Sisupala and Dantavakra.

my opinion is Ramayanam is a fictional story, and she compared that story with our daily society customs (in communism way)...

(may be she was trying to understand the society situations of valmiki time through his writings..)

Yeah fictional story ayite a imagination ki joharu Valmiki did a great job ! Ayite he should be great traveller and world explorer kuda ayundali?? Commute only by feet apudu how come he visited that stone bridge between lanka and india? Pushpaka vimmanam etc etc ela telusu ? 

Are ancients really aliens ? Does they really have super powers ? Hanuman can Fly , can increase his body weight lantivi 

Asal Ramudu from Malaysia emo ? Travelled all the way from malaysia through Thailand , Nepal to srilanka? Wats the reason behind Malayasian version portraying Lakshmana as Hero ?
