Thums up when sold to coca cola

i heard that thums-up had 80% market share in india when coca cola re-entered and bought it. i understand that coca cola started luring bottling factories away from parle inorder to bring down thumps up...but i felt that parle gave up too easily. also what was indian govt doing when all this was happening? surely looked like they bullied them.

They killed the gold-spot brand and almost also killed thumsup and limca had it not been for competition from pepsi.

it is owned by international company now. parle owned it before.

they almost killed it inorder to push sales of coca cola. seeing that people are moving to pepsi , they revamped the brand.
