Mehreen to Play Bathukamma celebration in Dallas!!

The leadership team of Telangana Peoples Association of Dallas has confirmed that Mehreen Kaur, F2 Fame will be the guest of Honor for their Bathukamma and Dasara Celebrations to be held on 5th October, at Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas.

Since the kick-off meeting 4 weeks ago, Telangana Peoples Association of Dallas is going full steam in its preparation for the most awaited event of Telugus of Dallas, Texas.

Since its inception 5 years ago, TPAD has brought popularity to the celebration of Bathukamma and Dasara celebration in Dallas, to such an extent that, they had to move their venue of celebrations to bigger places, every other year.

Their style of execution of the colorful festival, where there is chanting of Bathukamma by traditionally dressed women praying Goddess Gauri, procession of Goddess Durga in a beautifully decorated chariot and Jammi Pooja, is riveting.

The TPAD leadership team says that, they intention is to make every Telugu household in Dallas to celebrate Bathukamma and Dasara, together at the mammoth, yet beautifully decorated venue.

It has been noticed over the years that, across the USA and the world, TPAD's celebration of Bathukamma and Dasara has been looked upon as the standard for celebration of the floral festival.

To make it more appealing and encourage participation of youth in the celebration of the festival, they have adopted a unique approach. Their template of celebration is unique for a Bathukamma Celebration.

The day starts with cultural programs, lasting for 3 hours, providing a grand platform for the youth to show case their talent.

Senior Member of TPAD Rao Kalvala and Sharada Singireddy said, this was designed to encourage participation of youth and help them understand and embrace our culture.

The evening is filled with Bathukamma celebrations with around 2000 women brining Bathukammas and playing Bathukamma, with their chanting of Gouri echoing in the huge stadium.

The celebrations not only attract those who play Bathukamma, but also seen as a huge social platform for Telugus living in cities in and around Dallas/Fort-Worth.

The last part of the celebrations is filled with on-request performances from high profile celebrity guests, Telugu movie play back singers and movie actresses.

Looking at the turn out of the crowd of over 10,000 consistently for the past 5 years, for the celebrations, ever since they have adopted this approach, it is undeniable that their methods have worked.

Last year they have tapped the local talent, Anu Emmanuel, who was raised in Dallas metroplex and went on to make an image for herself in Telugu and Tamil movie industry.

For this year’s celebration of Bathukamma, they have chosen Mehreen Kaur, an upcoming young actress, who made a name for herself with the blockbuster family comedy F2, for the celebrations, to be held on 5th October 2019 at the Allen Event Center in Dallas.

The leadership team headed by TPAD Foundation Chair, Janaki Ram Mandadi, Chair of Board of Trustees, Pavan Kumar Gangadhara, President Chandra Police said, preparations are going smoothly with over 200 volunteers working hard in preparing the stage for the grand celebrations.

Raghuveer Bhandaru, a key architect of the template of celebrations over the years, said, like every year, with support from local and venue authorities, TPAD is making all efforts to conduct the event in a safe and comfortable environment and make it a memorable experience for the participants.

Let us hope that the celebrations will be as grand as TPAD is known to deliver and take Bathukamma celebrations to new heights.
