Modi Govt - What is in pipeline for next 4.5 years?

The first 6 months of the current BJP govt has set a frantic pace.

They have already removed Triple Talaq 

They have demolished 370

Anti-terror law where a person can be designated as terrorist and his whole property seized.

Merger of banks from 10 to 4.

 

The pace in first 6 months was breathless.

 

In fact as far as legislation's go, these are as good as you can get in a 5 year term.

They easily could have removed 370 before 2024 elections and won it handsomely. 

Instead they chose to kill it right at the start of second term.

 

So, what are they going to do in the next 4.5 years?

One Nation, One legislation ->

Seventy years ago, B.R. Ambedkar had famously said this in a passionate speech in the Constituent Assembly: “No one need be apprehensive that if the State has the power, the State will immediately proceed to execute…that power in a manner may be found to be objectionable by the Muslims or by the Christians or by any other community. I think it would be a mad government if it did so.” The father of the Indian Constitution made this reference after a consensus on putting a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in place proved elusive: it was a universally governing structure that he envisioned as a secular family law, one that was not constrained by any religious law or community custom. He had desired a UCC that would replace religious personal laws regarding marriage, inheritance, adoption, succession and all other rights within the family that flow from religion or tradition. Finally, he had to settle for a mention in the directive principles in Article 44 of the Constitution, which said “the State shall endeavour to secure for citizens a uniform civil code”.

 

That is what Dr Ambedkar felt 70 years back.

In fact Article 44 of the constitution explicitly asks the govt to work towards UCC.

Would anyone be surprised if BJP brought UCC during the winter session and bulldozed it through the parliament?

Since it would be a constitutional change, would it need state legislature approval?

If so, would state govt's oppose it?

 

BJP lead states obviously won't

TN under AIADMK wont

Naveen Patnaik won't

 

Mamta definitely will oppose it.

CPI will oppose it.

 

What about Congress?

Would it go against UCC? If it does, it would sound death knell for the party across Hindi heart land.

 

What about KCR and Jagan?

All in all, UCC would be a trap of colossal magnitude for opposition.

I want to really see Modi as Hitler for one good reason, autobahns or at least as transformative as autobahns did for germany and the west

infact there are ample proofs to suggest congress has been working with ISI all along to make india weaker during UPA.. but does logic matter to CBN supporters, i dont call all TDP supporters as idiots though, some have changed their mind post 2003 (Sendral started applying marks to pretend as Puli)

why couldn't your pea brain understand the pakistan might have done this to counter modi during elections (to put him in a dead spot either react to Pulwama or not)

No one is calling you AuntyIndia but you need explain what you mean?

As example, Paki terrorists killed 40 of our soldiers before elections and we took revenge. BJP won the elections.

Did it get votes for attacking Pakis? You bet it did.

If BJP did not attack and take revenge would opposition attack BJP for being weak? You bet they would have.

 

so, unless your opinion is that Pakis and BJP are coordinating to make Modi PM, this makes little sense.

As PM, he will take call to respond to threats. It's his job.

If you are going to complain that Modi is getting votes and winning elections for doing his job, that's stupid.
