Rice and turmeric water served as 'mid-day meal' in school

Sitapur: It seems the education department officials in Uttar Pradesh do not think twice while playing with the health of government school students, who mostly come from a poor background. 

In yet another case of corruption involving mid-day meals, students at a primary school in Bichparia Village of Pisawan Block in Sitapur district were served rice dissolved in water with raw turmeric. 

 

 

According to a report, the video of the incident has gone viral on social media. As the information about poor quality mid-day meal spread, officials from the district administration reached the school to inspect the food served to students. 

 

Officials also recorded statements of the students from the school. However, there has been no action in this regard yet. 

The mid-day meal menu on Saturday stipulated cooked rice with vegetables, but the students were only served watery rice without any vegetables. It is also alleged that the rice was simply dissolved in water mixed with turmeric powder and was not cooked properly.

After the incident, Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Ajay Kumar, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Brajmohan Singh reached the school and probed the matter. 

However, BSA Ajay Kumar denied any wrongdoing in the preparation of mid-day meal. Officials also said that the students told them that they were indeed given rice and vegetables.

In August 2017, at least 15 children fell ill after consuming mid-day meal at a school in Sitapur.

also the food inspectors or officials who are responsible to check the quality....transfers avutai ani bhayam

why is the principal or teachers from the school not reporting it.. jobs potayi ani bhayama...

a attitude at all levels marentavaraku...ilanti cases nadustune untai...

the mentioned states have better literacy rate than UP...but they are not immune to such incidents though...

Goondaism/Netagiri is widespread in Hinduland..UP, Bihar, Haryana,
