i cannot speak for what he has gone through.. 

but chinappati nunchi kastaalu antunaadu kabatti.. he must have already had mental toughness higher than normal people

but wife raakatho..at once he became a kid and adored in all forms...and couldnt take loss of her. 

his mental toughness should have ploughed him through the difficulties again and he shouldnt have done what he did and succumb to the situations (which he did not while growing up)
