Hyderabad: In tune with Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s plans to strengthen rural economy, Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) is coming up with major industrial parks and IT parks in and around Tier-II cities attracting investments of more than Rs 35,000 crore.

In all, the Corporation is developing industrial parks in about 46,000 acres attracting investments worth about Rs 80,000 crore since the State formation.

According to officials of TSIIC, the recently inaugurated TIF-MSME Green Park at Dandumalkapur in Yadadri Bhongir district was one of the first major industrial parks to be thrown open for industrialists. They stated that it can be considered as a tip of an iceberg when compared to other major industrial parks coming up in and around Tier-II cities. About Rs 750 crore investments are being expected in this 471 acre industrial park, providing about 12,000 jobs.

One of the largest industrial park coming up in rural Telangana, will be Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal. With an estimated investment of Rs 11,564 crore, the textile park is being established in about 2,000 acres with a projected creation of 1.13 lakh people. The much-awaited National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) is another major industrial park coming up at Zaheerabad, with an investment of Rs 13,300 crore in about 12,635 acres and provides employment to about 2.77 lakh people.

Similarly, works related to Rs 110-crore Mega Food Park at Buggapadu near Sathupalli in Khammam district are also under progress in about 60 acres. The food park will have food processing industries for mango, coconut and other food processing units. While Bandamailaram in Siddipet district will be home for an exclusive seed park in about 150 acres, another food processing park at Bandathimmapur in about 150 acres had grabbed the attention of RPG Group and Kolkata-based Guiltfree Industries which were setting up their snacks manufacturing units. Coco Cola also expressed interest to establish its unit with Rs 1,000 crore investment in the same park.

Other industrial parks coming up in rural parts of Telangana State include Spice Park in Velpuru of Nizamabad district in 40 acres, Plastic Park at Thummalur of Rangareddy district in 100 acres, food park at Tupran in Siddipet district, industrial parks at Rakamcherla, Buchanelli, Maheshwaram and Ravirala in Vikarabad district, among others. “Several other new industrial parks have been proposed to come up in rural areas of the State. The TSIIC has spent about Rs 1,825 crore to establish 23 industrial parks in an extent of about 39,000 acres,” an official of TSIIC said.

Further, the IT parks are also being established in Tier-II cities. While T-Hub is setting up its centres at Warangal with Rs 31 crore and at Nizamabad with Rs 50 crore, an IT (Information Technology) park is coming up in Karimnagar with an investment of Rs 100 crore. Works pertaining to an IT incubation centre has been expedited at Khammam with Rs 25 crore investment.
