When it comes SoCal, it's a lot more affordable than bay area! You can even find a lot of month-month lease options under 1800 for a 2 bed even in places like Tustin(Close to Irvine). If you want all bells and whistles, it would cost around 2-2.5K. And salaries are decent too, around ~130-150K in SoCal + bonus. In greater LA, you can find a brand new house for 500K in Inland empire (~2K SQFT with a small backyard). With 130K salary, getting a 500K home is not bad. You might get a home in GA around 400-450K, but you salaries range about 110-120K. Income tax is high in CA, but property tax is low. You get great weather all year round. Close to beaches, mountains, desert, snow(like Big Bear) within 1 hour drive of LA! And you've 5 airports in LA. Vegas is close by, a lot of national parks. You just can't beat that!! You might save a few 100s if you live in other states, but you can't get this life style! This is all based on one income and if you wife is working, she would easily get around100K in salary too! You cannot go in flip flops in Dec/Jan anywhere else! You want to shovel snow? Be my guest!

2. In greater LA, you can find a brand new house for 500K in Inland empire (~2K SQFT with a small backyard)......this confirms that you live in dreams(btw whats greater LA??)

3. cant beat FL, you want great weather n no state tax Northern FL, TX

4.Close to beaches, mountains, desert, snow(like Big Bear) within 1 hour drive of LA! And you've 5 airports in LA. - i am in midwest and FT, i go to vacation for for about a month or so....15K expense iythea max, i still make more money and i have better life syle and yes i can beat that

i was once interviewed for a contractor tech lead position for Apple by wipro and they offered me 60$/Hr 

i am not sayin they this low for everyone, that point is pay in not competitive 

 

for example mid-west lo you can get a good 2bd for 1200$, if you get lets saw you make 6K/month(around 100K/yr)......after taxes you might take home around 4600......so rent is around 26% 

so in cali 2K rent anukundham(avg ga just for numbers).........you need around 7500K take home antea rough ga around 9600 per pay check....ante around 120K raja 

antea you need to get atleast 25% extra pay ravali neeku cali undali antea when compared to other place 

 

this is just a very basic math and rough number.....just for renting
