Not recent but I switched from Note 8 to iPhone X, and regretted my decision for a long time, in every aspect of the phone usage..!

Current trend lo oka phone life 2 years eee... after that it becomes secondary.. or  a museum item..!

But yeah.. thats my opinion.. because its human tendency that we feel the itch to go for newer versions... if intended for longer use then iphone may be... because i know people who are still using iphone 5, 6, 7.. so thats some durability!

Not if u change to iPhone from Android... U save ur things mostly in the Google drive or local drive.. But iPhone doesn't pick it..

any day it comes down to cost to quality for me..used to be an apple fan till 4 ..after andriod caught up i moved on...used most of the samsungs, lg, htc etc...hardware is no match to iphone..my mom is still using an iphone 6 which i got in 2014 without any prblm...now i am using a ph with stock andriod and its a breez if you are really into andriod
